HH 9/13/18

The plastic navy was out in force this morning. I am back from another trip to family in the Midwest and was happy to join the group. Everybody got fish. Eight of mine were small but two were the kind that keep me addicted to this sport.

Good Stuff Don. One of these days we'll have to fish together.

I hooked into something big fishing by the buoy line. It ripped off 40 feet of fly line and went way into the backing quicker than anything I've ever had on, and I was pulling hard with 12 lb test.. I had so much line out I couldn't control depth, so the fish eventually snagged my second fly on the bottom and broke off. Left me with only a big jolt of adrenalin.

So the big one is still out there, and waiting for the next fisherman...

I was out a couple of weeks ago near the PCH bridge and there was a spin fisher battling a hammerhead shark, about 6 ft long, for about 15 minutes. It eventually tangled in his anchor line and broke off. You never know what's swirling around beneath you!
